Composing Music
Campers are introduced to the basics of composing music through guided activities. Students experiment with rhythm and melody while creating short original ideas and working together to build musical pieces in an age-appropriate and engaging way.

Rhythm Games and Skill Building
Rhythm is developed through interactive games, body percussion, and movement-based activities. These experiences strengthen timing, coordination, and beat awareness while keeping learning fun and energetic.

Elementary Music Camp at SVMC is an exciting, immersive summer experience for students entering in grades 1 - 5 for the 2026-2027 school year. Students grow as musicians through hands-on music-making, creative exploration, and engaging group activities. Designed to challenge and inspire, our camp builds confidence, musical understanding, and a lifelong love of music in a fun and supportive environment. Students will explore rhythm, melody, movement, singing, and basic instruments through collaborative experiences. No prior musical experience is required!

Songs and Musical Fun
Campers enjoy singing together in a fun and supportive environment. They learn fun songs, explore rounds and call-and-response, and use movement and rhythm to bring music to life. These activities help build confidence, teamwork, and a love for making music with others.

Musical Exploration
Campers explore how different instruments create sound and how music changes through dynamics, tempo, and texture. This hands-on exploration encourages curiosity and helps students understand music beyond just playing notes.

What to Expect
Each day includes a balance of group activities, small-group exploration, games, creative challenges, and musical collaboration. Campers stay active, engaged, and inspired while learning through play and discovery.
