Media Policy

Shenandoah Valley Music Camp documents camp activities, rehearsals, and performances through photography, audio, and video for educational and promotional purposes.

Consent to Media Use

By registering a student for Shenandoah Valley Music Camp, the parent or legal guardian grants permission for SVMC to photograph, video record, or otherwise capture the student’s participation during camp activities and public performances.

Permitted Uses

Media may be used by SVMC for purposes including, but not limited to:

• Camp website and promotional materials

• Social media platforms

• Printed materials such as flyers, posters, and concert programs

• Educational and archival purposes

SVMC will not publicly associate a student’s full name with media content without additional permission.

Public Performances

Parents and guardians acknowledge that performances may be open to the public and recorded by SVMC or audience members. SVMC cannot control or restrict media captured by third parties during public events.

Opt-Out Option

Parents or guardians who do not wish their child to appear in camp-related media must notify Shenandoah Valley Music Camp in writing prior to the start of camp.

While reasonable efforts will be made to honor opt-out requests, complete exclusion from group photos, videos, or performance recordings cannot be guaranteed.

Media Storage & Security

Media files are stored and managed by SVMC using reasonable safeguards. Media may be retained for archival or promotional use.

Request for Removal

Parents or guardians may request removal of specific images or videos by contacting SVMC. Requests will be reviewed and honored when reasonably possible.

Policy Updates

This Media Policy may be updated periodically. Continued participation in camp following updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Acknowledgment

Agreement to this Media Policy is required as part of the registration process.
